Make no mistake the climate is changing. It always does!
But the noise coming from both sides of this issue is becoming deafening.
Who's right?
I look at the science regarding global warming. Our world is heating up, for the most part....some areas such as the Pacific hemisphere are loosing heat faster than the African hemisphere. We have the ability to by drilling into ice sheets go back almost 800,000 years and analyze the C02 content of our planet. What we see are almost predictable cycles of warming and cooling which average out to roughly 100,000 year cycles of up and down. The question then becomes how much of what we are now seeing is related to human cause?
Since the onset of industrial times in the 18th century, human activities have raised atmospheric CO2 by 50% – meaning the amount of CO2 is now 150% of its value in 1750. This human-induced rise is greater than the natural increase observed at the end of the last ice age 20,000 years ago. So, yes it seems that humans are having an impact. However, I have read that this latest cycle upward is actually not as severe as some levels seen further back in time. What I and many others believe to be a much greater threat is the biological collapse resulting from the massive amounts of toxins being applied to our planet. Global warming seems to be a symptom of this poisoning of our planet and ultimately, us!
Many experts have repeatedly stated that we are smack dab in the middle of the 6th extinction period this planet has known. All the others were cataclysmic natural events. We've got no one to blame for this one other than ourselves!.....
What I find insulting though is the suffocating hypocrisy some of our so-called leaders and entertainers who have adopted this cause exhibit. For instance. Let's take a gander at the level of carbon emitted from our current methods of transportation. - Trains emit about 7 pounds of carbon emission from a 3.3 hour commute
- Buses emit about 88 pounds per 4 hours
- A car emits about 1 pound of carbon per gallon. (An average car gets about 20 miles per gallon)
- Commercial airliners emits about 174 pounds per 2 hours of flight
- A private jet spew's out a whopping 7,913 pounds of carbon per 90 minutes
Think about that the next time someone like say, Al Gore wags their finger at you for driving your car and then hop on their private plaine and fly all over the world lecturing us ........
