About Chiropractic Care
Is chiropractic adjustment safe?
Yes. Chiropractic adjustment is one of the safest, most evidence-supported forms of manual therapy available. Serious complications are extremely rare. Our practitioners perform a thorough intake assessment before any treatment to identify any contraindications and ensure safety.
What does an adjustment feel like?
Most patients feel immediate relief after an adjustment. You may hear a 'popping' sound — this is simply the release of gas bubbles from the joint fluid, not bones cracking. Some patients feel mild soreness in the 24 hours after an adjustment, similar to post-exercise soreness. This is normal and typically resolves quickly.
How many adjustments will I need?
It depends on your condition, history, and goals. Acute injuries often resolve in 4–8 visits. Chronic conditions typically require a structured corrective care program. After your intake assessment, we'll give you a clear, personalized timeline with measurable milestones.
Do I need a referral from my doctor?
No. You can book an appointment directly with us. However, if you're receiving care from another provider, we're happy to coordinate with them and keep your full care team informed.
About Massage Therapy
What's the difference between relaxation massage and deep tissue?
Relaxation (Swedish) massage uses lighter pressure and long, flowing strokes to promote general relaxation and improve circulation. Deep tissue massage applies sustained, targeted pressure to reach the inner layers of muscle and fascia — it's a clinical technique designed to break down adhesions, reduce chronic tension, and support injury recovery.
Will deep tissue massage hurt?
Deep tissue work involves firm pressure, and you may feel some discomfort at tight or injured areas. Good therapists maintain open communication throughout — you should feel a productive 'therapeutic discomfort,' never sharp pain. Always tell your therapist if anything feels wrong.
How often should I get a massage?
For acute recovery, weekly or biweekly sessions are often most effective. For maintenance and performance optimization, monthly sessions are common. We'll recommend a frequency based on your specific treatment plan.
Appointments & Logistics
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Wear or bring comfortable, flexible clothing. Bring any imaging (X-rays, MRIs) or medical records relevant to your condition. If you've been treated elsewhere, a brief summary from that provider is helpful but not required.
Do you accept insurance?
We accept many major insurance plans including PPO and some HMO plans. Please contact us to verify your specific coverage before your appointment. We also offer transparent self-pay pricing.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for at least 24 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations or no-shows may be subject to a fee, as that time cannot be offered to other patients.
How quickly can I get an appointment?
For non-urgent bookings, we typically have availability within 2–3 business days. For acute pain or injury, please call us directly — we do our best to accommodate urgent cases quickly.
Treatment & Recovery
What can I expect after my first visit?
Your first visit includes a full intake assessment: health history, postural analysis, range of motion testing, and a functional movement screen. Treatment often begins at this visit. You'll leave with a clear understanding of your diagnosis, recommended treatment plan, and expected outcomes.
Can I exercise while undergoing treatment?
In most cases, yes. We'll advise you on what's appropriate for your specific situation. For acute injuries, we may recommend temporarily modifying your training. We'll also prescribe specific corrective exercises to complement your in-clinic treatment.
I've had treatment elsewhere without results. Can you help?
This is one of the most common situations we see. Our systems-based approach often identifies root causes that standard treatment protocols miss. We encourage a consultation — we'll give you an honest assessment of whether we can help and what that might look like.
